Rear Wheel Cylinder .625".  The MGB roadsters have a tendency to lock their rear wheels when under very heavy braking; this can be counteracted by fitting modified rear wheel cylinders - reducing the pressure exerted on the rear shoes and producing a better balance between front and rear braking. This modification is essential for all competition cars.

  These are bolt-on kits and comes in several stages for road or race applications. The full kits come complete with new discs, calipers, pads, hubs in some cases, fitting kit and full instructions with installation photos. All you need to install is time and tools. 
 
These Big Brake upgrade kit is designed to exceed the performance of the factory OE brakes in two key areas: First, larger diameter rotors which increase heat capacity, allowing a driver to brake harder stop-after-stop while reducing chance of brake fade.  Second, stiffer lightweight billet 4 piston calipers and stainless steel lines reduce system compliance while providing a consistent pedal feel and very confidence inspiring brake responsiveness.
 
The key, however, is to increase heat capacity and reduce compliance without upsetting the vehicle's stock front-to-rear brake torque ratio which precisely apportions front and rear braking resources while factoring in vehicle weight transfer under braking. 
 
In contrast, a brake upgrade that adds too much front torque (as many do) will reduce your car's ability to maximize the traction available from all four tires, robbing you of performance. In addition, a system that uses pistons that are too large will make the brake pedal much more difficult to modulate, limiting a driver's control of brake input. All of these elements have been optimized in the Ol Phartz Partz Big Brake kits.
 
Combining the largest rotor possible to fit under standard factory wheels and  four piston billet calipers, the Ol Phartz Partz Big Brake kits represent the next generation of braking for your British sports car.  These kits have calipers that provide low-maintenance performance, a huge weight savings, and high temperature capacity for both street and track.
 
These Big Brakes fit snugly inside production wheels and a many aftermarket alloy wheels.  Some of the factory steel wheels will require a wheel spacer for caliper clearance, this will be noted with each kit.   Our kits contain DOT compliant stainless steel braided brake lines along with a complete hardware package for a safe and easy DIY install.  All of the kit hardware is grade 8, stainless or military specification.   Cross-drilled or slotted rotors are available at an additional charge. 

Oil Filter Felt

The original oil filters were felt.  We have been able to get some of these filters. Two manufactures of oil filter were used over the course of time, Tecalemit and Purolator.  Fortunately the elements for both will interchange.  They do, however require different sealing gaskets.  Our filters have both thickness of sealing rings in the package.  This filter was used on early "B" series engine elusively throughout the 50's and 60's and is a good alternative to the GFE102 paper filter.

Water Pump with Large Impeller

These pumps have the same aluminum housing with the deep cast impeller and the by-pass hose take off. This higher capacity was original equipment on the 1098cc engines and more coolant then smaller impeller pumps on the 948 engines  These water pumps have the much larger impeller, it sticks into the block very slightly more than 1/2"(14.03mm). This water pump will fit all 1098cc blocks and the small bore block 948cc.
