Bonnet (Hood) Hinge Set

Chrome looks great on a car, but pitted or worn chrome will detract from an otherwise good looking Minor. These new chrome bonnet hinges are sold by the pair with the body gaskets, and for less than you would pay to rechrome your old ones! The hinges wear in the pin area allowing the bonnet(hood) to wobble when open. New hinges are a great fix for this problem. New hinges are savoir. These hinges will not fit the earlier split-windscreen Morris Minors.

The Morris Minor bonnet assembly is very heavy and has a positive latching mechanism. However. the aerodynamics of the car are such that if for any reason the main catch springs open you will very quickly find the bonnet in your windshield. The least that will happen is a broken windshield, bent hood and broken hinges! This safety catch is cast material and is easily broken. A simple pin holds it in place and also makes it easy to replace. A good item to purchase along with the new catch is a the return spring to make certain the catch does function properly.
