Anti Tramp Bar Kit
The anti tramp bars is highly recommended for cars which have more power available. They are fitted between the rear spring front eyelet and the center of the spring mounting on the axle by brackets which are supplied as part of this kit. When power is applied, usually from a standing start, the rear leaf springs tend to wind up into an 'S' shape, and then revert to normal in a series of hops, this is commonly referred to as 'tramping'. Anti tramp bars restrict the flexing of the front half of the leaf spring under extreme loadings, by allowing only vertical movement of the axle; this deprives it of the natural twisting motion the axle so the axle can no longer 'tramp'.
